What is Water Resistant PE Foam?
Is PE Foam Really Water-Resistant?
Yes! PE foam has excellent water-resistant properties.
Thanks to its closed-cell structure made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), PE foam has a very high level of water resistance. It helps prevent water, moisture, and water vapor from penetrating the material.
→ This property makes PE foam widely used for finished-product packaging, product protection in construction, thermal insulation, and cushioning applications.
Water-Resistant Applications of PE Foam
In the Construction Industry:
- Protects construction materials and structures from rain, moisture, and water vapor, especially structures that require curing time, such as cement and adhesives.
- Protects equipment that is susceptible to rust and corrosion.
- Used as an additional material for roof and ceiling thermal insulation.

Floor Underlayment:
Commonly used under wooden flooring to help prevent damage to existing floors while also providing good sound insulation.

Product Packaging:
Protects moisture-sensitive products, including electronic components, cosmetics, wooden products, and more.

Insulated Bags:
Combined with OPP film to make insulated food bags, helping reduce vapor loss and maintain the temperature of ice and hot food for longer periods.

PE foam not only provides excellent water resistance but also offers good impact protection, making it widely used in packaging processes and product protection.
